Milbank Air Safety Mattress Systems

 Technical Data

One of the major causes of injury on building and construction sites is falls from heights. The Health & Safety Executive now insists that the hierarchy of fall protection must be followed for all operatives working at height. Therefore passive fall arrest systems, (e.g. Safety Decking, Air Mattresses etc.) must be provided rather than active systems, (Inertia reels and harnesses).

Milbank Air Mattress Systems can be delivered and erected one day prior to any operation involving personnel at height. Alternatively, the can be erected on the day, if the size of the project allows it. The Milbank Air Mattress System offers the following key advantages:

  • Rapid Installation
  • Versatility
  • Effective Fall Protection in accordance with HSE

 Coordination & Planning

The Main Contractor must ensure that the whole area to be protected and access to that area remains free from all site material and debris. The Air Mattress System is erected by a Milbank Installation Team. They will ensure that all necessary safety checks are carried out before the system is handed over to the client.

Milbank Air Mattresses are inflated using either 110v electric fans or small petrol fans. The Air Mattresses and fan units will remain the responsibility of the Main Contractor/Client whilst they remain on site.
