Milbank Concrete Products Releases Love Actually–Style Music Video Christmas parody

Milbank Concrete Products has launched its 2025 Christmas video – a parody of “Christmas Is All Around”, the iconic song from the film Love Actually.

The video features staff from across the business miming, acting, dancing, and delivering perfectly deadpan pop-star performances in a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Christmas is All Around video.

What began as a light-hearted internal idea quickly grew into a cross-company effort, with every department: from design and estimating to production, transport, factory workers and senior leadership taking part. The result is a fun, unexpected and distinctly “Milbank-concrete style” Christmas message that showcases the personality behind one of the UK’s leading precast concrete manufacturers.

Yes, we even recorded the vocals ourselves

In addition to appearing on camera, several members of the Milbank team also recorded the vocals for the parody track itself. The song was re-created in-house, with staff laying down the backing and lead lines to match the original Love Actually style – complete with intentionally flat delivery, exaggerated phrasing and the unmistakably unpolished charm that comes from real people rather than professional singers. It adds another layer of authenticity to the parody and reinforces the “made by us, for us” spirit behind the project.

A very Milbank twist on a Christmas classic

Filmed across the company’s Essex facilities, the video includes:

  • a Santa-hat “Girl Band” performing the opening scene
  • tinsel forklift “dance routine”
  • factory workers singing into tools and strumming spades
  • planning team dropping Love Actually–style cue cards
  • a concrete-loving sequence
  • and a final company-wide outdoor finale shouting “Merry Christmas from Milbank!”

The parody keeps the charmingly flat humour and awkward miming of the original Love Actually music video – with a few unmistakable concrete cameos along the way.

A celebration of people, not products

While the video includes subtle nods to Milbank’s concrete products, the focus is firmly on the people.

“The whole idea really started as a little brainchild of mine – I wanted to create something fun that shows the human, fun side of Milbank,” said Celina Keywood in Marketing, who led the project. “Our team embraced the spirit of the parody completely, from Santa dresses to forklift choreography, and the result is something that feels very ‘us’: dry humour, teamwork and a lot of personality.”

Why a concrete company is making parody videos

Milbank has become known in recent years for its strong people-first culture, sustainability work, and community support. This Christmas project builds on that direction, strengthening team spirit and offering a moment of levity and connection at the end of a busy year.
