Milbank Proudly Supports Rising Athletes at The Martial Arts Centre

As part of our ongoing Community Outreach Programme, Milbank is delighted to continue sponsoring The Martial Arts Centre (TMAC) in Braintree – a club renowned not only for its sporting success, but for its dedication to personal development, discipline and lifelong confidence building.

This year, TMAC has shared an exceptional update on the achievements of its members, many of whom are now competing, and winning, at the highest levels nationally and across Europe.

Outstanding Achievements in 2024/2025

TMAC’s athletes have delivered their strongest year to date, including:

  • Abbie Sutton, who achieved two England Karate Championship titles, represented Karate England at the European Championships, placed top 6 in Kumite, and secured 4th place in Kata. She also contributed to the GB Team Kumite Championship win.
  • Dominic Karsai and Bailey Mutlow, crowned WUMA Kickboxing European Champions.
  • Four TMAC British Champions: Dominic Karasai, Alfie Smith, Bruce Clarke and Mayzie Lake.
  • And incredibly, four members have now qualified to represent Team GB at the WUMA World Championships in Switzerland next year.

These results reflect not only exceptional athletic talent, but the commitment, discipline and strong coaching environment that TMAC is known for.

How Milbank’s Support Helps

High-level competition brings unavoidable costs, from entry fees to travel and accommodation – all essential for young athletes progressing through national and international pathways.

Through our Community Outreach Programme, Milbank’s sponsorship helps remove these financial barriers, ensuring that TMAC’s athletes can:

  • Attend national championships
  • Compete across Europe
  • Train and prepare without the pressure of additional costs
  • Represent Team GB on the world stage

We are proud to help make these life-changing opportunities more accessible.

TMAC expressed their gratitude for the continued support, noting the real difference it makes:

Your sponsorship has been used to assist in the expense of entry fees, travel costs and hotels. It’s made a huge impact in enabling our athletes to compete at the level they’ve worked so hard to reach.
David Wilson, Head Coach at The Martial Arts Centre (TMAC)

A Shared Commitment to Community and Growth

TMAC’s values, discipline, confidence, resilience and community, align strongly with our own. Supporting organisations like TMAC is part of Milbank’s long-term commitment to strengthening local communities and helping young people reach their full potential.

We are immensely proud of every athlete, coach and parent involved in these achievements, and we look forward to following TMAC’s journey in the year ahead – especially as their athletes prepare for the WUMA World Championships in 2026.
