Focus of the Role
Responsible for the daily supervision and functionality of the factory workspace and yard.
The Foreman is located in the Precast factory. The Precast factory area of responsibility includes the storage yard and associated outside areas including the staff car park.
The Precast Foreman provides essential support to the Precast Manager who is ultimately responsible for the Health & Safety of all staff and visitors whilst in the Precast factory area.
The focus of this role is to also act as a role model to all team members and to be the first point of call between the staff on the factory floor and the Precast Manager.
Daily issues that occur should be dealt with, requiring only a moderate amount of oversight, however key decisions that are of a major nature, should be escalated, to senior management.
This role also requires the role holder to always lead by example and support, motivate and focus the workforce daily to guarantee maximum output and efficiency, in order to deliver the factory schedule.
The focus will also require the response to daily challenges, in a flexible and adaptable way, to ensure delivery and dates are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
- Organise the workforce to ensure that the current days production plan is completed with efficiency and quality.
- Manage the workforce and their issues, then liaise back to the Precast Manager.
- Provide day to day leadership, direction, and support for a team of circa 20 operatives.
- Be a role model for good housekeeping and maintain it, demonstrating leadership and a proactive approach.
- Organise the workforce to ensure that the current days production plan is completed with efficiency and quality.
- Manage the workforce and their issues, then liaise back to the Precast Manager.
- Provide day to day leadership, direction, and support for a team of circa 20 operatives.
- Be a role model for good housekeeping and maintain it, demonstrating leadership and a proactive approach.
- Adopt and demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to all Health & Safety matters.
- Contribute to and oversee Quality Control checks (pre/post tour) and the relevant forms filled out, which must be returned to the office and scanned onto the system.
- Ensure all equipment husbandry checks on the shopfloor are completed and returned to the corresponding folders in the precast office. Monitor and adjust the in-house asset register.
- Provide and support a day-to-day culture, that leads to the growth in skills and capability across the factory and team.
- Contribute to the in-house training and performance KPI system.
- Manage the allocated resource effectively and efficiently, ensure this contributes positively to the wider budget.
- Monitor material stock levels and orders accordingly (liaise with Team leaders). Order general waste and wood skip when required.
- Positively contribute to and drive forward improvement projects, i.e 5S (6S), reorganizing the factory, Net Zero and other projects aligned to CI & sustainability targets

Skills
- Ideally experienced in a construction-based environment with a minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role.
- Specialization knowledge in Precast would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge or experience in management & leadership.

- Proven track record in leading teams.
- Effective communication.
Essential Qualifications
- Experienced background and knowledge for this role, is more important than industry or management qualifications.
