Position: Small Plant Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Negotiable DOE.  Including overtime, potential earning in the region of £50,000

Milbank Concrete Products is a well-established, industry-leading supplier of high quality Precast Concrete Floors, Stairs and bespoke products within the UK. Milbank specialises in various sectors within the construction industry including advice, design, manufacture and installation.

 

About the Role

We are actively recruiting a maintenance engineer who also has good practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, specialising or experienced in a concrete plant or manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will join an expanding team of engineers responsible for maintaining and repairing the production machinery, some small plant, production facilities, supporting fleet of vehicles and some facilities maintenance.

Currently working five days a week with some weekend work, you will need to be flexible in approach to your working hours with plenty of opportunity for overtime.

You will work as part of a team but must be capable and confident to work unsupervised in a factory environment, at heights and in confined spaces.  A valid forklift and cherry picker licence will be an advantage as would knowledge and experience in welding.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the following areas;

 

Mechanically

  • A good understanding of mechanical principles
  • Experience of working on machinery which includes repairs to drive shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and gearboxes
  • Knowledge of basic hydraulic systems including, pumps, motors, valves and hose repairs
  • Logical application of fault finding and repairs

 

Ideally some additional experience of the following electrical skill would be a distinct advantage:

  • Working on industrial control systems, 3-phase induction motors and variable frequency drives.
  • An understanding of general electrical principles
  • Safe isolation procedures
  • Fault finding skills

Three month probation period.  Successful completion leads to enrolment in company pension scheme and health benefits scheme.
