Position: Appointed Person

Reporting to: Senior Contracts Manager

Location: Milbank Concrete Products, Earls Colne, Essex, CO6 2NS

Industry Sectors: Manufacturing, Concrete Pre-cast Products


Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate lift plans/method statements/risk assessments for concrete products we manufacture on multiple sites/customers across the south-east (Kent/Surry/Sussex/S London).
  • Manage projects (single houses, large housing developments, flats, care homes).
  • Carry out site surveys.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for site managers and clients, maintaining professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Compliance with LOLER 1998, PUWER 1998, BS 7121, and CDM 2015.
  • Asses, plan and prepare RAMS and lift plans to clients for approval before work begins.
  • Select appropriate cranes and lifting accessories based on load, site conditions, and ground bearing capacity ensuring value engineering lift plans for customers.
  • Assess and respond to unforeseen site issues.
  • Understand the flooring installation process to ensure lifting plans align with construction requirements.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and company policies.
  • Mobile role working from a car/home predominantly with occasional trips to the HQ in EC.
  • Customer focused including conflict resolution.

Skills   

  • In-depth knowledge of precast concrete installation. – desirable
  • Strong planning and organisational ability.
  • Proficient in Crane Expert or equivalent planning software.
  • Effective communicator (phone, email, face-to-face).
  • Commercial awareness of contract terms and cost implications.

Essential Qualifications  

  • CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting Operations).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with heavy lifting in construction environments – desirable.
